PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program video recording and reproducing device and a program video recording and reproducing method by which a viewer can record a broadcast program until the end of program even from the halfway of the program and can easily select the recorded program when viewing the program again. SOLUTION: When the system of this invention receives any of a video recording instruction, a program revision instruction and a view interruption instruction of a view program from a viewer, the system acquires program information and an end time of the view program from an electronic program guide and stores the contents of the broadcast program and the program information until the end or the program information and the time of viewing. The viewer can select at least one of the stored program information items when viewing the desired program again and reproduces the program contents of the selected program after the instruction.
