SOLUTION: For a spiral stairway installed with each tread 5 turned in a predetermined angle, a longitudinally flat board is notched to a stair shape thereby forming a plurality of horizontal placing surfaces 3 and this supporting board 2 is installed to one surface of a column member 1 located at an inner end side of the spiral stairway, and each inner end portion of the spiral treads 5 of the spiral stairway is placed on each supporting surface of the horizontal placing surface 3.
