OPTICAL OUTPUT MODULE AND INTERCHANGEABLE OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical output module in which two light sources emitting a light beam of a different wavelength are packaged and to provide an interchangeable optical pickup device using this module. SOLUTION: The optical output module 100 includes a substrate 111, a first and second light sources 121, 131 that are arranged on this substrate 111 and that emit a laser beam in a different wavelength region, a reflection member 115 that guides the light beam emitted from each light source 121, 131 to one direction, photodetectors 125, 135 for a first and second monitors that receive the light beam from each light source 121, 131 to monitor the optical output of each light source 121, 131, a package frame 141, and a large number of lead frames 145. The pickup device includes such optical output module, an objective lens for converging the laser beams of the first and the second wavelengths on the optical recording medium, an optical path switching means, a diffraction grating that is arranged on the optical path between the optical output module 100 and the optical path switching means and that diffractively transmits the incident light, and a photodetector means.
