SPECTACLE LENS MACHINING METHOD AND LENS METER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mark an arbitrary measuring point position and mark a lens easily and quickly without a risk of scrach thereon. SOLUTION: A spectacle lens machining method has a lens measuring process for measuring an optical characteristic and a reference point position of the spectacle lens, and a machining process for effecting machining using optical information obtained in the lens measuring process. The lens measuring process measures such an optical characteristic as a prism value of the lens with a measuring point set in an arbitrary position of the lens machined, calculates such an optical reference position as an optical center position from the measurement result, marks the position, and stores or records the positional relation between the marking position and the optical reference position or transmits it to other equipment. The machining process effects machining by detecting and locating the marking position and locating the reference point such as the optical center on the basis of the marking position and the data stored, recorded or transmitted.
