METHOD, SYSTEM, AND POINT-TO-MULTIPOINT SERVICE CENTER FOR PERFORMING MOBILE STATION LOCATION UPDATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, system and corresponding Point-to-Multipoint Service Center(PTM-SC) for receiving and storing the location information of the cell of a mobile station MS in a cellular telecommunication network, routing area, and location registration area or the like by a point-to-multipoint service center PTM-SC. SOLUTION: When the MS triggers a location update, the location information is transmitted to an SGSN and a PTM-SC. The PTM-SC receives the location information, and converts a group identification number into an IP address, and selects this IP address, and checks one of the MS in the location registration area, and stores the information in a subscriber database memory, and responds to a request for acquiring the IP address of the group of receivers satisfying a location registration standard. The PTM-SC returns the list of the IP addresses of the MS subscribing to a prescribed group, and satisfying the location registration area standard to a PTM service provider. The server provider executes the actual PTM transmission to the subscriber.
