PRESS APPARATUS AND PRESS RAM POSITION-ADJUSTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press apparatus that is of a simple structure and is so adapted as to be able to adjust, with high efficiency and accuracy, the bottom dead center for the press ram, and a press ram position-adjusting method. SOLUTION: At the upper end of the press ram 1 that moves upward and downward a threaded member 2 is screw-equipped, and, the rotating axis of a driving motor 5, which is fixed at the side of the press body 4 that drives upward and downward the slider 3 supporting the press ram 1, and the threaded member 2 are coupled with a spline axis 6, and through rotating the threaded member 2 both in normal and reverse directions by turning the spline axis 6 in normal and reverse directions with the driving motor 5, the press ram 1 is caused to move upward and downward against the threaded member 2 and the slider 3, thereby adjusting the height position of the end of the ram 1b at the time of starting press operation, and thus adjusting the height position of the bottom dead center of the ram end 1b moving upward and downward at a fixed stroke during the press operation.
