ELECTROLYTE AND ELECTROLYTE ACIDIC WATER FORMED FROM THIS ELECTROLYTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain electrolytic acidic water by using an easy to handle weakly alkaline electrolyte without being affected by the quality of the water to be used, without being drastically affected in pH by electrolysis conditions, or the like, and without an automatic control circuit, or the like, for holding a set pH range. SOLUTION: A diaphragm electrolytic cell is used and the water is electrolyzed by the electrolyte of a pH 8 to 11 prepared by adding a prescribed amount of hydrochloric acid and an acid for pH regulation selected from carbonic acid, phosphoric acid and carboxylic acid to an aqueous silicate solution, by which the solution is controlled to a desired pH of an optimum pH range (pH 3 to 7) of a high sterilization effect and the electrolytic acidic water controlled to the desired pH range is formed in an anode chamber.
