Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve the restriction on the performance of a compressor when the exhaust air is recirculated from the turbine side to the compressor side of a turbo-charger. SOLUTION: A multi-stage compressor 26 of the turbo-charger 12 comprises a first compressor wheel 46 supported at a shaft, a first intake 52 extending in the axial direction combined with the first compressor wheel 46, and a first outlet 54 extending in the radial direction combined with the compressor wheel. A second compressor wheel 48 supported at the shaft 38 comprises a second intake 58 extending in the axial direction combined with the second compressor wheel 48, and a second outlet 60 extending in the radial direction combined with the second compressor wheel 48. A duct 64 between stages makes the first outlet 54 hydraulically communicate with the second intake 58 in series. A duct 76 for exhaust gas recirculation makes a turbine 24 hydraulically communicate with the duct 64 between stages. A valve 82 is disposed inside the duct 76 for exhaust gas recirculation.
