Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress lowering of sealing performance of a gate valve body due to chips deposited at a spot where a valve seat is to be formed in a valve case, while intending to make the branch structure of a fluid transporting pipe compact and simple. SOLUTION: When forming a branch opening 1A in the pipe wall of the fluid transporting pipe 1 by the rotary cutting tool 9 of a drilling apparatus C so as to pass through a flow passage 11a in a gate valve B having the opened gate valve element 12 and a flow passage 3a in a branch pipe part 3, chips caused by a drilling work is discharged to the outside together with fluid through a discharge port 16 formed in the valve case of the gate valve B.
