Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeder of a simple system which makes it easy to maintain a paper discharging means and facilitates jam processing in the paper discharge path of a paper discharging means while reducing the installation space. SOLUTION: Between a contact glass 3 and an exterior cover 37, a pressing member composed of a pressure plate 38 pressing a document mounted on the contact glass 3 and a reflecting plate 7 and a main frame 40 which holds the pressing member turnably around a fulcrum of turn are provided; and a paper discharging means composed of an auxiliary frame 43 and a driven roll 33 is interposed between the main frame 40 and pressing member and the pressing member is turned around the fulcrum of turn to expose and close the paper discharging means.
