Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing in a short time a porous crosslinked polymeric material with high absorptivity. SOLUTION: This method for producing a porous crosslinked material comprises preparing a water-in-oil type high internal phase emulsion(HIPE) in the presence of a polyglycerol fatty acid ester followed by subjecting the HIPE to polymerization. This method has the following advantage: since the HIPE is stable, the polymerization process can be carried out at high temperatures, resulting in producing in a short time the objective polymeric material having high water absorptivity.
