Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink binder composition excellent in thermal transfer characteristics and the durability of an image, and excellent in applicability because of low melt viscosity. SOLUTION: A resin consisting of structural units containing no reactive unsaturated bond and having a carboxyl group and an ester linkage and/or a urethane linkage is reacted with a metal salt of an organic acid and/or a basic metal compound to thereby form a thermally reversibly crosslinking bond at the part of the carboxyl group, thus giving the ink binder composition. The crosslinkage is cleaved at high temperature to lower the viscosity of the composition, giving good workability. The crosslinkage is formed at low temperature to increase the cohesive power of the composition, giving good durability of an image.
