Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sinker for vertical fishing capable of contributing to protection of fishery resources and protecting the natural environment of the sea bottom because the ecesis of fishes is maintained without making the fishes escape due to the production of no impulsive sound and without damaging or deforming rocky areas, seaweeds, corals, or the like. SOLUTION: This sinker body 1 made of lead for the vertical fishing is composed of a nearly conical body part 2 and a truncated conical fitting part 3 installed protrusively from the undersurface 2C of the body part 2 downward. A circular ring 4 for hanging is provided on the tip side 2A of the sinker body 1. An elastic cushioning body 5 comprising a crude rubber is detachably fitted onto the fitting part 3. The elastic cushioning body 5 is formed of an upwardly narrowed cylindrical fitting part 5A and a hemispherical cushioning part 5B integrally molded with the lower side of the fitting part 5A. The wall thickness of the cushioning part 5B on the lower side is larger than that of the fitting part 5A on the upper side.
