Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display device capable of having high contrast and a large visual field angle. SOLUTION: A backlight 2 is constituted of a color variable full color unit. On a LCD panel 1, one pixel is provided at a part corresponding to one dot. A plurality of dots are provided on the LCD panel 1 and characters and graphics are displayed by controlling ON/OFF of the pixels. Since the backlight 2 of the background is colored, the characters and the graphics are color displayed. Since the area of the pixel of the LCD panel 1 is made wide in this constitution, the numerical aperture is made high and the contrast and the visual field angle of the characters and the graphics displayed in the display device are enhanced.
