Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for roughly opening inorganic staple fiber by which unevenness of thickness and unevenness of weight in the spinning direction are reduced, and further to provide an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: This method for roughly opening the inorganic staple fiber comprises installing a pair of delivery rolls having a controlled rotational speed for delivering a constant amount of a raw material accumulated in a storing tower, further installing a nip roll capable of holding the delivered raw material and capable of being moved so that the clearance to a guide plate or an opening cylinder may be regulated according to the thickness of the raw material, and controlling the rotational speed of the delivery rolls by detecting the thickness by the nip roll. The production apparatus is also provided.
