BASE BODY FOR SHIFT LEVER DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base body for a shift lever device capable of preventing the deposition of a liquid on electric parts when the liquid deposited on the upper part of the shift lever device enters into a case and of normally functioning the electric parts. SOLUTION: The base body B of the case 12 has a liquid preventing wall 12c formed at the lower part of an opening portion Ia of a design member I. A through-hole 40 is provided in the liquid preventing wall 12c and a solenoid 41 is fixed to the lower face of the liquid preventing wall 12c with a screw 42. A liquid preventing wall 12d is extended downward from three sides except an X side of the outer periphery of the liquid preventing wall 12c. The solenoid 41 actuates a crank mechanism 45 (shift lock mechanism) to restrict the movement of a rod 26. When the liquid spills on the design member I, liquid drops from the opening portion Ia of the design member I and the counter X-side end of a guide hole cover C onto the liquid preventing wall 12c. However, the deposition f the liquid on the solenoid 41 covered with the liquid preventing walls 12c, 12d is prevented.
