PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chamfering device of a plate body capable of properly preventing chamfering burning or easily carrying out diagonal chamfering at a desired angle and a robot control system of the chamfering device. SOLUTION: A glass plate positioned at a plate arranging position by a plate arranging device 14 is held by a robot 16 and it is transferred upward above a grinding wheel 54 of a grinding wheel device 18. Thereafter, an edge part of the glass plate is made contact with the grinding wheel 54, and an overall periphery of the edge part is chamfered and worked by moving the glass plate. It is possible to vary a contact point of the glass plate and the grinding wheel 54 so that circulation of a coolant becomes easy, and it is possible to make the glass plate contact with the grinding wheel 54 at a diagonal angle so that a cross-section of the glass plate can be diagonally chamfered at the desired angle.
