Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a recombinant type hepatitis B virus surface antigen by which a recombinant type hepatitis B virus surface antigen having a high antigenic activity can be mass-produced and to obtain the recombinant type hepatitis B virus surface antigen. SOLUTION: This method for preparing the recombinant type hepatitis B virus surface antigen is characterized by preparing the surface antigen by using an antigenic determinant region containing four antigenic sites of an S antigen of the hepatitis B virus surface antigen and a region capable of encoding at least four amino acids forming a transmembrane region.
