Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the maintenance efficiency of a public terminal having a music download function by an MD(Mini Disk) recorder. SOLUTION: The MD recorder is configured to make a transmission output of maintenance information in response to a request of a main processing section in the inside of the public terminal. The MD recorder generates this maintenance information by collecting information items latched in an internal register in each block with respect to mechanism block control, system control and communication control in compliance with the IEEE1394. Then the main processing section stores received maintenance information and transmits the information to a management center. Thus, an information processing center totally collects the maintenance information as to each MD recorder provided in many public terminals to manage the maintenance information in a unified way.
