Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method and device for updating a print driver. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a port monitor for monitoring the constitution and state of a printer. When the constitution of a print head is changed, the port monitor updates a print driver registry on a print server. The port monitor starts a print driver on the print server, and informs the print driver of the change of the constitution. A client device connected to a shared print queue of the server directly reads the constitution data or requests the constitution data from the print server according to a client operating system to be used. The client device updates the local registry of its own device, and reflects the change of the constitution of the printer on a certain client operating system.
