Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the catalytic activity decrease due to overheating in a catalytic heat storage type gas treatment apparatus by reliably preventing the catalyst from being heated to its heat resistant temperature or higher even if an object gas with which a heat radiating component is mixed in a concentration higher than an expected concentration temporarily flow in a heating chamber. SOLUTION: A catalytic heat storage type gas treatment apparatus 1 is provided with temperature sensors 9a-9c for detecting the temperature of catalytic layers 2a-2c or of an object gas to be heated after heating and cooling means (air jetting nozzles) 50a, 50b, and 50c for cooling the catalytic layers 2a-2c or the object gas to be heated based on the signals from the temperature sensors and when the temperature sensors detect the temperature is a preset temperature (for example, the heat resistant temperature of the catalyst), the cooling means (air jetting nozzles) are operated to cool the catalyst or the object gas to be treated. |
