Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a color image having a metallic gloss which can discriminate an area in which the metallic gloss is to be expressed strongly and an area in which the gloss is to be controlled in the color image and especially exhibit its value to form the precisely reproduced image of the photograph or print of a historical work of art or a historical building in which plenty of gold foil and silver foil are used. SOLUTION: In the method for obtaining the color image having the metallic gloss by forming an image by color printing on an image receiver in which a metallic gloss layer is formed on a support, a white ink layer is formed in advance on the surface of the metallic gloss layer in a portion in which the metallic gloss in the image is to be controlled, and the color printing is implemented.
