Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-heat-generating metal honeycomb structure in which the steel foil is surfaced with an Al2O3 insulation layer freed from the conventional drawbacks and suited for the production of such honeycomb. SOLUTION: There is provided a self-heat-generating metal honeycomb structure having an insulation layer, which is a metal honeycomb structure composed of a laminate or winding of a flat stainless steel foil and a corrugated stainless steel foil, wherein at least either of the surfaces of the stainless steel foil is surfaced with α-Al2O3 comprising isometric crystals and/or prismatic crystals.
