Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for automatic patrol allowing automatic patrol without a user operating an image recognition system and improving the operation rate of an image recognition means. SOLUTION: The image of a patrol object picked up by an image pickup means 2a in a remote place is converted into digital image data by an image transmission means 2b and transmitted to a server system 1 through a communication network 6. The server system 1 patrols using the digital image data and transmits patrol result report data to be reported to a client system 3 of the user through the communication network 6.
