SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC EMULSION AND SILVER HALIDE COLOR PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic emulsion having high sensitivity and excellent in pressure resistance and preservability against change with time and to provide a silver halide color photographic sensitive material containing the emulsion. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic emulsion comprises flat platy grains having an average aspect ratio of >=6 and having an internal core and a first coating phase different from the internal core in halogen composition and having 5-20 mol% silver iodide content at the outside of the internal core. The silver halide color photographic sensitive material has at least one red- sensitive emulsion layer, at least one green-sensitive emulsion layer and at least one blue-sensitive emulsion layer on the base and contains the silver halide photographic emulsion in at least one of the color-sensitive emulsion layers.
