Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine favourable in an initial blow-by characteristic of the internal combustion engine, excellent in abrasion resistance between a ring groove and a top ring and capable of improving durability accordingly. SOLUTION: The piston for the internal combustion engine the base material A of which is constituted of an aluminium alloy member containing silicon (Si) and furnished with a plural number of ring grooves on outer peripheries of which a plural number of piston rings are installed is constituted by forming an anodic oxide film on a surface of the ring groove and forming a part of silicon (Si) particles contained in the base material A of the piston for the internal combustion engine in an exposed state on a surface of the anode oxide film.
