INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image on an object of transfer by using an intermediate transfer recording medium, to form a protective layer on the image for giving durability completely to the image and thereby to provide the intermediate transfer recording medium and an image forming method which enable accurate and simple transfer of the protective layer on the image, prevent blocking or the like due to exposure of an adhesive substance and are excellent in design properties and durability. SOLUTION: The intermediate transfer recording medium 1 has a constitution wherein a sheet base 4 provided with a resin layer 5 and a transparent sheet 2 provided with a receiving layer 3 are laminated, and the transparent sheet 2 with the receiving layer 3 is transferred onto the object of transfer by peeling the transparent sheet 2 from the resin layer 5. A specific shape is formed in the part of the transparent sheet 2 including the receiving layer 3, in other words, half cut processing for removing (8) the transparent sheet with the receiving layer in a prescribed width is applied to the periphery of the outer edge of an area 7 to be transferred onto the object of transfer. The transfer image is formed on the receiving layer and the part whereon the image is formed is re-transferred onto the object of transfer so as to form the image thereon.
