PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile apparatus with high operability which can handle either case of receiving image data in color or in monochrome by the same operation, and can store the image data in a memory card as well as protect the copyright. SOLUTION: A facsimile machine according to this invention comprises a data format conversion means to convert mutually the data format of data between the data format allowing facsimile transmitting-receiving and the data format allowing digital image processing when it is found by detecting the kind of image data that the data format to be processed in the facsimile transmitting-receiving is different from the data format which is for the memory card and enabling to be processed in a digital image processing, and a TIFF format conversion means to convert into TIFF format data by adding data stored in a data storage part or data converted by the data format conversion means after producing a file header in TIFF format and an image file directory.
