Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a reduction in magnetic flux efficiency to the utmost, and to increase an S/N radio as much as possible. SOLUTION: This drive is provided with: a magnetoresistive element 9 for sensing a magnetic signal from a medium; first and second magnetic yokes 3 which are formed to face each other by sandwiching a magnetic gap 4, which guide the magnetic signal from the medium to the magnetoresistive element and which are magnetically coupled to the magnetoresistive element; and first and second electrodes 7 and 14 connected to the magneto-resistance effect element for supplying power in a direction roughly vertical to the forming surface of the magnetoresistive element. The magnetoresistive element is formed on the magnetic gap, the first electrode has a bottom surface, the joined area of the first electrode and the magnetoresistive element is defined by the area of the magnetoresistive element, and the area of the bottom surface of the first electrode is larger than the area of the joined surface. |
