Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for realizing an all-optical logic operation of a signal transmitted from an arbitrary point, to be more specific, like an optical computer using a pumping signal and a probe part signal, relating to the device and method for realizing the all-optical NOR logic element. SOLUTION: The device and method comprises an amplifying means for amplifying the sum (A(λp1) + B(λp2)) of two pumping signals so that it can saturate a gain of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) in which an operation characteristic of the all-optical logic element can be obtained from a gain saturation and a wavelength transform characteristic when the summed signal of the pumping signals and the probe signal pass through, and a coupling/separation means which is coupled to the rear ends of the pumping signal generation means, an external modulation means, an adjusting means and an amplifying means, and which couples and separates the signals. |
