Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform the dimensional control of the gap depth of a magnetic core. SOLUTION: A pseudo track portion GD is formed on the side part of the opposite side to the surface of a recording/reproducing track RW to be stuck to a slider block 1. An apex portion A is exposed on the side face 7a of the track portion GD. The apex portion A is externally observed, and a gap depth D influencing a recording/reproducing characteristic is directly measured. Thus, the gap depth D of a magnetic core 7 is accurately figured out, and a desired gap depth D is formed.
