METHOD FOR CALCULATING CONTENTS STORAGE CAPACITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the total cost for contents distribution by optimizing the storage device capacity of an information providing terminal as to a system which distributes pieces of contents from a center station where contents are stored to plural information providing terminals by a communication line, specially, a satellite line and sells the contents stored on the respective information providing terminals. SOLUTION: The capacity of the storage device of an information providing terminal which minimizes the cost needed to sell contents is calculated from the number of the information providing terminals, their depreciation periods, costs for each capacity of the storage devices, use frequency distributions for each contents, the total number of the contents, the information capacity of the contents, and the cost for contents distribution using the communication line, specially, the satellite line.
