NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BLOCKING USE BY BURGLAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which can be prevented effectively from being used by a burglar third party without imposing any trouble to a user. SOLUTION: At the time of turn off power, a control section 6 controls a vehicle position measuring section 3 to deliver current positional information to a storing section 4 and to store the current positional information therein. At the time of turn on power, the control section 6 controls the vehicle position measuring section 3 to deliver the current positional information to a comparing section 5. The control section 6 acquires comparison results from the comparing section 5 for comparing the positional information stored in the storing section 4 with the positional information acquired from the vehicle position measuring section 3. Upon receiving information indicative of mismatch, the control section 6 simply presents a specified message at a display section 7 and does not perform navigation operation.
