METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING GRINDING WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a grinding wheel of high quality and accuracy in a short time by use of a simple method, from a grinding wheel material temporarily molded by cold pressing, and to manufacture a thinner grinding wheel. SOLUTION: The grinding wheel material 30 temporarily molded into a predetermined shape by cold pressing is positioned between a pair of upper and lower dies 4 and 11, which are heated at a predetermined rate of temperature elevation as the output of an infrared lamp 20 positioned around the dies 4 and 11 is controlled by a controller 26. Also, as a drive 8 is controlled by the controller 26 to control the speed, position and torque of a moving shaft 9 in accordance with a predetermined program, a pressing force is imparted to guide the pair of upper and lower dies 4 and 11 to the final pressing position. After a bonding material is sintered and molded, the pair of upper and lower dies 4 and 11 are cooled at a predetermined rate of temperature drop to a temperature at which they can be opened; the dies 4 and 11 are opened to take out the grinding wheel molded.
