SOLUTION: The insulator for the high-voltage equipment, disposed between high and low voltage electrodes and having a sectional area varying from place to place, is characterized as follows: the surface of the insulator is coated with such a coating material that the resistance of the coating material for the arbitrary sectional area part of the insulator is made lower than that of the insulator of the sectional area part.
