RETRIEVAL METHOD OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL BODY DATABASE AND RECORDING MEDIUM HAVING RETRIEVING PROGRAM FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL BODY DATABASE RECORDED THEREON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval method of a three-dimensional body database which can precisely retrieve three-dimensional bodies of a similar shape and to provide a recording medium where a retrieving program for the three- dimensional body database is recorded. SOLUTION: When given three-dimensional body data are stored, polygon information is extracted from the three-dimensional body data, the size of the polygon is divided to a size smaller than a certain size, and the feature quantity of the three-dimensional body is extracted from the divided polygon information to store feature quantity information. For retrieving the three-dimensional body, a retrieval key is inputted, the similarity between the inputted retrieval key and stored three-dimensional data is calculated, and a three-dimensional shape having a similar shape is outputted.
