Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interactive remote maintenance system for performing maintenance such as finding out of the cause of and repair of the electric failure of mechanical equipment by using a communication line such as a telephone line or an Ethernet(registered trademark) by remote control. SOLUTION: Mechanical equipment 1 including a sequencer 2, an exclusive communication unit 3, a communication modem 4, a terminal adapter 7, and a control panel 10 is connected through a communication line 8 to a maintenance performing facility including a personal computer 5, a communication modem 6, and a terminal adapter 9 so that bi-directional communication can be performed. Then, a mechanical equipment side operator is allowed to perform a maintenance auxiliary work and a maintenance performing confirmation work through the control panel 10 based on an instruction inputted to the personal computer 5 by a maintenance performer.
