Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an energy consumption for mechanical and particularly electrochemical surface roughening and to increase reproducibility on manufacturing a support material for a printing plate. SOLUTION: Aluminum for a printing plate, or the support material made from aluminum, comprises a preliminarily stamped surface. The preliminary stamp includes hemisphere indentions having a diameter of 2-50 μm and an average diameter of 20-30 μm. The support material is electrochemically roughened in an electrolyte selected from the group consisting of hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and chloride or nitrate ion of aluminum salt. Current density of an alternative current is 30-45 A/dm2. Surface roughness RA after surface roughening is uniform and within a range of 1.0-1.5 μm, and all regions are roughened.
