Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a porous silicon carbide sintered body which can control and reduce the gelation time in the forming step, also high in porosity and can improved strength. SOLUTION: This method for producing the porous silicon carbide is characterized by consisting steps of; providing a slurry by mixing a silicon carbide powder with a carbon powder, thermosetting resin, dispersing agent and water; forming by gelating the slurry by adding epoxy resin there to, hardening by drying the formed body which is obtained in the above step, firing after degreasing the hardening body obtained in the above step, impregnating silicone to the fired body obtained in the above firing step, removing an unreacting silicone from the impregnated body which is obtained in the above impregnating step.
