Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam welding method capable of rapidly and efficiently welding a butted part of two pipes whose end faces abut each other. SOLUTION: Since two laser beams 61 and 63 are irradiated on the inner surface 60 and the outer surface 62 of a butted part 54 from both sides of the inner surface 60 and the outer surface 62 in parallel, the butted part 54 is not required for complete welding in a thickness direction of steel pipes 52 and 53 with each one of those laser beams 61 and 63. As a result, the amount of metal to be welded with each one of those laser beams 61 and 63 is lessen and the amount of molten metal drip is lessen, and welding work is therefore not interfered.
