Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production by which frictional heat of crimper rollers or the interior of a crimper with fibers is suppressed, the occurrence of fused fibers is prevented and high grade polyester-based binder staple fibers can stably be produced. SOLUTION: The surface temperature of the crimper rollers 1 is adjusted to 20-30 deg.C and the surface temperature of side plates 2 of the crimper is adjusted to 20-35 deg.C while applying cooling water at 5-25 deg.C at 4-10 L/min flow rate to the surfaces of the crimper rollers 1 for feeding a filament tow 3 to the interior of the crimper when carrying out a crimping treatment of the filament tow 3 of the polyester-based binder fibers in which a polyester having 50-140 deg.C solftening point occupies the fiber surfaces.
