Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which has a performance for modulating the biological activities of one or more endothelin isopeptides, to provide a compound having a use as a specific endothelin antagonist, and to provide a method for using a compound specifically acting on or inhibiting the interaction of the endothelin peptide with ETA or ETB receptor. SOLUTION: The thienyl-, furyl-, and pyrrolylsulfonamides, and the method for modulating or changing the activity of a peptide of endothelin family are provided. Particularly, there are provided N-(isoxazolyl)theinylsulfonamide, N-(isoxazolyl)furylsulfonamide and N-(isoxazolyl)pyrrolylsulfonamide, and the method for using the sulfonamides for inhibiting the bonding of the endothelin peptide to an endothelin receptor by bringing the receptor into contact with the sulfonamides, and also the method for treating an endothelin-mediating disease by administering an effective dose of one or more of the sulfonamides for inhibiting or increasing the activity of the endothelin or their prodrugs. |
