Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the cord winding efficiency in a cord winder for winding a cord such as modular cable to adjust the length to reduce the thickness thereof. SOLUTION: A claw fitting hole is formed on the bottom of a cord housing case 2, and a pair of claws capable of being fitted to the claw fitting hole is provided on a winding lid 3 in the mutually opposed form. A pair of cord outlet and inlet ports 23 and 24 is formed on the cord housing case 2 so that their cord insert grooves 23b and 24b are turned to the tangential direction along the circumference of the cord housing case 2. Accordingly, when a cord 5 housed in the cord winder 1 is pulled out, the cord 5 is caught by the cord insert grooves 23b and 24b of the cord housing case 2. Therefore, the cord 5 is never slipped or dropped off even if pulled out.
