ICMP DATA FRAME FILTERING METHOD AND ITS NODE UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ICMP(Internet Control Message Protocol) data frame filtering method that filters an ICMP data frame generated and transmitted by its own node so as to suppress increase in traffic and congestion of a network and to provide its node unit. SOLUTION: In the case of filtering the ICMP data frame sent to a sender when a fault is detected in an IP data frame received from a network, the propriety of generation of the ICMP data fame is managed for each attribute depending on a kind of the fault, and generating the ICMP data fame according to the propriety of generation can prevent production of a huge amount of the ICMP data frames.
