Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding bearing with an indicator function allowing easy confirmation and accurate judgement of the abrasion condition. SOLUTION: In this sliding bearing formed by bonding a bearing alloy layer 12 to the inside of a backing metal 11 and coating the surface thereof with an overlay layer 13, a surface of the bearing alloy layer 12 is formed with projecting surfaces 14 and 15, and degree of abrasion can be measured on the basis of the pattern with a view from the top surface formed by the worn overlay layer 13 and the projecting surfaces 14 and 15 of the bearing alloy layer 12 so that a surface of a sliding bearing can be visually confirmed and that the abrasion condition can be easily and accurately judged on the basis of a pattern in the condition that the sliding bearing is fitted in a housing.
