CERAMIC EXTERIOR CLADDING MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic exterior cladding material excellent in durability and properties with respect to decorative design, without performing any coating of the ceramic base material, by removing the surface of a ceramic base material containing mixed charcoal with impact processing to expose the charcoal within the ceramic base material to the outside. SOLUTION: This production process comprises: subjecting cement, wood fiber, charcoal and an inorganic foamed material consisting essentially of amorphous silica, to dry blending together to obtain a dry blend, mixing the dry blend with water to obtain a mixture, thereafter forming the mixture into a formed body; subjecting the formed body to primary curing to subject the cement to hydration and hardening, then further subjecting the primary-cured body to secondary curing in an autoclave, to react calcium in the cement with the amorphous silica in the inorganic foamed material and to form a calcium silicate compound(s), and thereafter, subjecting a surface layer of the resulting cured formed body to impact processing, to at least partly remove the surface layer and to expose the inside of the formed body to the outside.
