Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device where highly reproducible images can be produced without being affected by reverse transfer with a low cost constitution. SOLUTION: In the image forming device of a tandem method, a toner image of a specified pattern where the length in a sub (slow) scanning direction is set to be shorter than the lengths T1 that are the spacing between the abutting parts of image carriers 19 and a carrying body 23 is transferred to the transporting body 23 and the abutting force of the transporting body 23 against the image carriers 19 is lowered before a leading tip of the toner image on the transporting body 23 passes by the abutting parts so that no reverse transfer is generated.
