Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective liquid crystal display device which satisfies requirements for brightness and contrast. SOLUTION: The reflective liquid crystal display device 1 is provided with a liquid crystal panel 2 comprising a plurality of laminated liquid crystal layers 8. The liquid crystal layers 8 are each provided with a cholesteric liquid crystal 12 changing between a transmissive state in which visible light is transmitted and a reflective state in which a selected part of the visible light is reflected. The selected part of the visible light for each of the liquid crystal layers is different from those for the other liquid crystal layers. The liquid crystal display panel is also provided with a light transmission plate 15. The light transmission plate is provided with front and rear surfaces, and a side face connecting the front and the rear surfaces along their peripheries. The rear surface is arranged opposite to a front surface of the liquid crystal panel and guides light transmitted from the side face to the liquid crystal panel 2 from itself.
