RESISTANCE UNIT FOR EXERCISING APPARATUS AND BICYCLE TRAINING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance unit for the exercising apparatus which is provided with a convenient, efficient and effective means for directing ambient air onto the framework of a resistance unit or a resistor to inhibit the generation of heat and eliminate adverse effect as caused in connection with the generation of heat. SOLUTION: The resistance unit 12 for the exercising apparatus contains a resistance mechanism such as fluid type resistance mechanism 94 arranged in a housing 26. An input roller 28 engages a shaft 56 and rotates according to a force by a user during the exercising so as to rotate the wheels 22 of a bicycle. The resistance mechanism applies a resistance to external force of the rotation or the like of the wheels of the bicycle through the rotation of the shaft. A combination fan/flywheel member 30 is mounted on the shaft 56. The combination fan/flywheel member contains a blade structure 12'6 which maintains the inertial of the shaft and further, directs air to the housing of the resistance mechanism. During the operation of the housing 26 of the resistance mechanism, the dissipation of heat from the housing is promoted by moving air with the combination fan/flywheel member onto the housing.
