SOLUTION: This portable telephone set 1a is provided with a displaying part 4 for displaying an image, a speech communication detecting part 32 for detecting the start and end of speech communication, and a controlling part 31 which is connected to the displaying part 4 and the detecting part 32 and controls the display and non-display of the image so that the image displayed on the part 4 disappears when the part 32 detects the start of the speech communication and the image on the part 4 is displayed when the part 32 detects the end of the speech communication.
